The NIHR Cambridge Bioresource had an open evening on Wednesday 2nd November to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Caroline Williams-Gray gave a presentation at the event on a project that her team is currently working on, involving the measurement of immune markers in the blood in patients with Parkinson’s disease and healthy controls from the Bioresource.  The NIHR Cambridge Bioresource includes over 15,000 healthy volunteers who have provided samples of blood or saliva for genetic testing  and agreed to be recalled to participate in medical research and trials. It provides an extremely valuable resource for researchers who need to include healthy volunteers with particular characteristics (e.g. age and gender), or a particular genetic make-up, in their research studies.
