Dance Ensemblé is a community dance group attended by current and former Barker Lab researchers and founded by Barker Lab post doc Dr Romina Vuono together with her colleague Jeanette Simpson. The group, based in Cambridgeshire, has been raising vital funds for Parkinson’s UK in their dance classes for adults, held at Frank Lee Leisure and Fitness, over the past year. On May 16th the first cheque was presented to Julie Wilson of Parkinson’s UK, representing the first amount of money raised from the classes.
They are organising more classes for the following year as well as a dance performance, which will be held at the Cambridge Junction, Cambridge, on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th January 2016, to raise awareness of the condition, and to raise funds to help Parkinson’s UK to get closer to a cure. Tickets are currently on sale at the Cambridge Junction (www.junction.co.uk/take-a-step). To find out more contact Dance Ensemblé at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit their website (www.dance-ensemble.org.uk).
